Supima – Best of the Best
Everybody has been really familiar with cotton, or even organic cotton, state the fact that an average person owns more than 10 T-shirts. Cotton is nice, soft, durable and very comfortable to wear. But things can get even better.
Let’s meet a really cool member of the cotton family: Supima. Supima is an American premium-grown cotton that is famous for its amazing quality. It’s not called “Cashmere of the Cotton” for no reason.
The staple length of Supima is 35% longer than regular cotton. What does this mean? Well, it means that the textile is softer and luster. Fewer fiber ends are exposed, minimizing the effects of abrasion resulting in less pilling. Supima is stronger than regular cotton, up to 45% stronger, so you won’t have to throw out your favorite T-shirts after one or two summers anymore. That’s not all! Supima comes with the ability of absorbing and retaining colors better than regular cotton: the colors will look nice and bright, and will stay that way over many years of use. You go ahead: wear it, abuse it, wash it, bleach it, and it won’t even care.
Supima cotton does great being extremely soft towels and bed sheets, and in clothing it’s most often used in shirts for both men and women. Sweater made from Supima is light and comfortable to wear, yet provide superior warmth. Supima can also make soft and dense socks.
Supima’s great absorbency makes it very breathable, however, it also absorbs and forms stains pretty easily. But worry not, because the retailers have gone one step ahead and coat the Supima cloth used in clothing with a stain guard. You can sit back now, and enjoy the softness.
